The Hawthorne Police Department is continuing its Community Policing program in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Hawthorne, the Hawthorne Board of Education and the Hawthorne Municipal Alliance Committee.
The Junior Police Academy is open to Hawthorne residents, Hawthorne School Attendees and the Boys & Girls Club of Hawthorne members who are attending grades six through eight. The course is FREE and is designed to introduce the students to the various functions of law enforcement.
The first class begins on March 26, 2018 at 7 pm in the cafeteria of Lincoln Middle School. The Junior Police Academy will be meeting a total of six times at various locations.
Applications are available at Hawthorne Police Headquarters and the Boys & Girls Club of Hawthorne. Applications are to be returned to Hawthorne Police Headquarters or the Boys & Girls Club of Hawthorne by March 23, 2018.
