Maximum Number of Dogs and Cats
No more than a total of 4 dogs of licensing age shall be owned, kept, harbored or maintained by any person or persons residing in the same household and no more that a total of 5 cats more than 6 months of age shall be owned, kept, harbored or maintained by any person or persons residing in the same household.
Clean-up of Dog Feces
No person owning or in charge of any dogs shall cause or allow said dog to soil, defile, defecate on or commit any nuisance on any:
- By-path
- Common thoroughfare
- Park
- Passageway
- Play area
- Sidewalk
- Any place where people congregate or walk or upon any public property or upon any private property without permission of the owner
Any person owning or in charge of any dog which soils, defiles, defecates on or commits any nuisance on any common thoroughfare, sidewalk, passageway, by-path, play area, park or any place where people congregate or walk or upon any public property or upon any private property without permission of the owner of said property shall immediately remove all feces deposited by any such dog in a sanitary manner.
The feces removed from the aforementioned designated areas shall be disposed of by the person owning or in charge of any such dog in a sealed, nonabsorbent, leak proof container.
The provisions of this ordinance shall not apply to blind persons who may use dogs as guides.
Fine
Any person violation any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine not to exceed $100.
Other Live Animals or Poultry
“No person shall keep or maintain any live poultry or live animals within the Borough. Excluded from this prohibition, and hence permitted, are birds which or household pets, dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, rabbits, hamsters and gerbils. Dogs and cats must be licensed.”
